Two hours of weekly exercise to prevent cancer
The exercise practiced on a regular basis can help prevent some cancers such as breast and colon.
He says the World Health Organization (WHO) in its new Physical Activity Recommendations, published Friday on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
The guidelines say that with two hours of exercise a week, much of these two types of cancer could be prevented.
In 2008 some 7.6 million people died from the disease, of which about 610,000 were suffering from colon cancer and 460,000, women with breast cancer.
The WHO added that physical inactivity causes more than three million deaths annually and is considered the fourth risk factor for contracting cancer.
